The Proper Way to Dispose of Used Copier Cartridges

In today’s world where many of us are attempting to use the resources that we have to the best of our abilities, the idea of disposing of used items correctly is of great concern to many.  When it comes to toner cartridges for copier machines there are several ways in which this can be achieved and also ensures that you still feel good about what you are doing.

The first place to look is at your local office supply shop, as many of them offer items ranging from a discount to a free ream of copy paper when you bring in your used toner cartridges.  If you are luck that your local office supply shop does offer such a service then not only are you ensuring that the units are being processed properly, but you may find that you are making a saving on the office supplies that you need.

However, if none of your local office supply shops do not have such a program in place then it may be advisable to check with your local city or town government to see if they do.  Many local governments have gotten into the recycling trend as a way of promoting wise use of the resources available.  It may even be that your local council/government receives a discount on the new copier cartridges that they purchase, which means that you will be helping to keep the cost of running your local council/government down as well.

Often local charities can put used copier cartridges towards a good cause as well, whether it is that they take them to a redemption program or they actually refill the cartridges themselves and then sell them in their shops as refurbished units, either way it helps the charity to expand its resources, which results in more help for those people in the community who are less fortunate than yourself.

Often you will find that some manufacturers include a postage paid container with their new cartridges and you can use this to send the used cartridges back to them.  Normally they will also provide a discount coupon with the new toner that you can use for purchasing more cartridges as and when they are needed.

As you can see there are a number of ways in which you can dispose of your used copier cartridges and thus make things a little better for the community in which you live.  So why not check round the town where you live and see what options are available to you.
