Finding a Replacement Copier Drum
Allison Thompson

Defined Tag:

If as with many people you find that you have had the same copier for quite some time, you may find that you will need to replace the copier drum at some point.  Yet, hopefully you have decided to go for an extended warranty on the machine you have and so a new drum will be obtainable at little or no extra cost to you.  However, if the machine is out of the warranty period or you have decided not to take out a warranty at all there are still some places which can provide you with a replacement drum at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately when it comes to the much older models the parts for these can sometimes be hard to find but many office equipment repair shops work together and will be able to find a drum for your machine.  It is advisable to keep in mind that depending on how many refurbished drums can be found, the price may be higher than expected, but often this is an efficient way of getting a replacement drum for your machine especially with the time constraints that many businesses put on us nowadays.

If you are able to and can afford to do it, it is advisable to shop around, check out thrift shops and other places which may sell old office equipment, you may find that they have the same make of machine as you with a perfectly good drum inside.  In this kind of situation you may find that not only can you get the drum for very little money, but also have a ready supply of spare parts that you can store for future use.

Local Government Offices will often offer their used equipment to the general public and there is a good chance that you will be able to pick up a replacement copier drum at one of these sales.  However, prior to making the purchase make sure that the drum is good working order and has been maintained and cleaned on a regular basis.

Finally, there is the internet where you can get just about everything including drums for your machine.  If you find that you cannot get a replacement drum for you machine locally, then why not carry out a search on the internet using the make and model of your machine.  You may well that there are a number of sites which can either lead you to a used copier drum that is in good condition or to a company which produces generic drums (ones that are compatible with your machine).

So with a little effort you will soon find a suitable replacement drum for your machine even if your copier is way past its sell by date, so go check out your choices today.
